The Tribe

Damp and cold the earth is to my touch

The branches long and slithery, they scratch

My skin, they leave deep bleeding marks

Wounds painful as if caused by countless sharks

The surface far above it is

I don`t know how I got myself into this

A tiny patch of sky is all that I can see

It´s getting dark, I do not want it to be

The sound of tiny brooks nearby

The cheerful bird chirps and random cries

They´re courting maybe, living their lives

Without confinement, without the need to hide

The branches slowly they embrace me

And whisper words that would erase me

The words that “everything will be alright

Join us in the darkest night”

Come stay with us, we own you now

No need for us to say it loud

We would like to make you feel so welcome

we never do this, very seldom!

Your blood you´re sharing with us, we´re hungry

There´s been no food for years, hundreds

All we have seen here has been flies,

Well, maybe also some magpies

However, here we have a human to exploit

to our delight, to our greatest joy

We´ve never had the chance, you see

You are a real treasure, yes, indeed

There is so much sustenance in store

An opportunity for joyful feast and more

We will survive, we will endure

Prevent the ground from sliding down, for sure

You will have enormous contribution

You`ll die content, as a retribution

Your sins might be forgiven kindly

This event will change the world profoundly

In ways that you would never know,

You will be gone, this is your fall!

It will take time, unfortunately so

You`ll be inscribed in the holy books, with awe

Your sacrifice will be remembered

Your memory so holy rendered

The new saint we are proud to introduce

The saviour, enduring the abuse

But you should not fret, you should not worry

Just come into our cold arms, hurry!

We promise we will give you one more joyful night

Your death might be induced by pleasures to your delight

A list of endless options we can offer

We will make sure your end is proper

We`ll cradle you into our arms as baby

We`ll stroke you gently as your eyes are fading

We will be anything you want us to

Just give yourself fot us, without ado

But if you struggle, we`ll still embrace you

Our ugly muzzle, it will face you

And if you struggle, we`ll squeeze you hard

Your eyes will bulge, we`ll take your heart!

This pulsating thing is ours

We`ll put it in our empty bowels

It will bring everything to life

It will be green again, alive will be our tribe

it was your father once, so proud

With his knife he carved it out

Our precious beating heart and splattered

blood all around, by death our tribe was shattered.

Your mother godlike, she was there

She had a stern cold-blooded stare

He knew that all would cease

But it was her he chose to please

He never heard our children`s cries

Our bargaining, our promises, our why`s

It`s clearly of no importance sheer

Our son was there, he`s no longer here

And we have sworn since his demise

To dress ourselves in an intricate disguise

And find the offspring of these freaks

To punish them, to make them weak

And now it`s time for our revenge

A martyr you may be today, a stench

Behind you will be left to linger

Your grave they`ll point at with their index finger

Those unfortunate souls bereft

Will know about your dirty history, your theft

We will grow mighty and we will be fair!

As usual, as always, the epitome of care

The epitome of all that`s holy and serene

And we will always have the right to intervene

In all matters out there, we are so keen

On passing judgements, and so has been.

We`re way above you, it`s a wonder that you dare

To question us, to steal from us, to stare

To pose objections to our carefully crafted layers

Do as you`re told! No naysayers!

And we have chosen destiny for you

Within these frames, there are many goods

Because it matters how you choose to die

Let us know which method we can try

Come on, here, throw the dice!

By this choice you would be easily enticed!

Whatever comes up, we will be there!

And we will execute with greatest care!
