Given to the Sand

Under hands persistent

Just sinking in the sand

The world out there - nonexistent

Would never lend a hand

They have been passing by

The years - dark and long

Don’t dare do it - sigh

Endure and be strong!

“Now it is here you belong

You will stay put” they say

“Don’t move - it will be wrong

Cause we will shoot, we may!”

Too long I had been here

My body died, dissolved

In every grain of sand appears

My lonely soul, tenfold

A sandstorm I can bring about

They will be lost, in pain

They won’t be able to get out

They’ll beg me, plead, in vain

The winds I will harness

The burning sun, the rains

To take my soul to farness

They will be trapped, detained

I’ll have them thrown around

I’ll have them bend on my command

I’ll have them buried in the ground

I’ll have them buried on my land

I will be laughing then

I plan to make amends

And will be asking them again

“Why did you keep me in the sand?”
