Pile of Dirt
A pile of dirt accumulating
A mountain huge sky-high
Sorrows, anger unabating
They can be found inside
Shadows of unhappy lives
Shattered souls unheard
Guns and old archives
Poisons, potions stirred
Flakes of skin, and nails
Shedded through the years
Wailing, screaming, gales
And all you darkest fears
The feisty ghouls they dance
They do this every night
The remnants of my heart they lance
With their rusty knives
I tried to clear it away
This rotten pile, the smell
Another sacrifice is made
These tenants give me hell
I couldn’t leave, or get away
So I tried to burn it down
My tears were the only way
A garden - it was turned around
They drowned the anger, desperation
They burned the flakes of skin
Screaming, wailing loose without cessation
I flooded the damn thing
The gales were ravaging the pile
The ghouls, the shadows disappeared
It has been quiet for a while
The dirt - no longer here
And now I’m growing flowers
And bees are coming by
Sweet smell and summer showers
Rich soil gave birth to life
Birds songs filling the air
Eternal spring is mine
Vibrant colours everywhere
Celebrating the sunshine
